Transitions staff and specially trained volunteers offer survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as victims of other serious crimes, counseling services, advocacy, emergency shelter and relocation assistance.  In addition, our Education Outreach staff provide a wide range of awareness and prevention programs to schools and community organizations.
24 Hour Hotline: Staff members and trained volunteers are available to provide support, counseling, information and referrals to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other serious crimes day or night, every day of the year.
Emergency Shelter: Transitions offers confidential and supportive emergency shelter for families who have been displaced as a result of domestic violence, sexual assault or other serious crimes.  This includes survivors of domestic violence who have voluntarily left home to avoid further violence, with their children.  We offer shelter to both male and female victims of serious crime.
Legal Advocacy: Trained staff members explain the legal process and proceedings, help complete and file Protection From Abuse Orders (PFA), and accompany crime victims to court hearings.

Adult Counseling: Counselors provide supportive listening and short-term counseling to help explore and consider options. They also provide information and referrals to other agencies where more help is available.
Child Counseling: Our Children’s Advocate counsels victims under 18 whose lives have been affected by sexual assault and/or violence in the home. There are support groups, play groups and special activities for younger children. Child care is provided while parents are learning to help themselves.
Sexual Assault: A trained sexual assault counselor offers support to those who have been raped or who are survivors of incest or childhood sexual assault.

Support Groups: People who have experienced similar life situations meet in small, confidential groups to help one another cope and offer support. Groups are led by trained staff and volunteers.
Education and Community Outreach: Our staff presents awareness and prevention programs to students in public and private schools throughout the tri-county area comprising our service area, as well as to community groups and governmental agencies.  For more information about the programs we offer, please click the button below:
